- The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Southern California University of Health Sciences Master of Science: Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Southern California University of Health Sciences. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2030. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

- The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program has applied for accreditation and has been granted Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. The program must have a preaccreditation review, complete an on-site evaluation, and be granted Accreditation Status before its graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
- The Certificate in Ayurvedic Wellness Educator and Certificate in Ayurvedic Practitioner programs have been granted accreditation candidacy by the National Ayurvedic Medical Accreditation Council (NAMAC).
State Authorizations and Disclosures
Arkansas
- Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board certification does not constitute an endorsement of any institution, course or degree program. Such certification merely indicates that certain minimum standards have been met under the rules and regulations of institutional certification as defined in Arkansas Code §6-61-301.
- The student should be aware that these degree programs may not transfer. The transfer of course/degree credit is determined by the receiving institution.
California
- Southern California University of Health Sciences has met the qualifications for exemption from regulation under the Act, pursuant to California Education Code (CEC) Section 94874(i): An institution that is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, or the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
- The Doctor of Chiropractic program of the Southern California University of Health Sciences - Los Angeles College of Chiropractic is approved by the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
- The Masters of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (MACM) and the Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) programs at Southern California University of Health Sciences are approved by the California Acupuncture Board.
Georgia
- The Commission requires that students utilize and complete their institution’s grievance procedure in an attempt to resolve any complain or concerns before submitting a complaint to the Commission. If the institution’s resolution is not satisfactory, a student may then appeal to the Commission, but it will not investigate a complaint unless the student has exhausted all available grievance procedures outlined by the institution.
Minnesota
- Southern California University of Health Sciences is registered with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to sections 136A.61 to 136A.71. Registration is not an endorsement of the institution. Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions” In addition, all registered schools shall publish in the school catalog or student handbook the name, street address, telephone number, and Web site address of the office.

Rhode Island
The United States Department of Education Regulation 34 CFR 600.9, the “Program Integrity Rule,” as part of its state authorization provisions, requires states to provide a process for students to file complaints relating to programs offered by postsecondary educational institutions authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The specific types of complaints covered by these regulations are:
· Allegations of state consumer protection violations, including, but not limited to fraud and false advertising;
· Allegations that state laws or rules addressing the licensure of postsecondary institutions have been violated; and
· Allegations regarding the quality of education or other accreditation requirements.
If your complaint regards other matters, you are encouraged to seek resolution from that institution first through the institution’s internal complaint procedure. In accordance with the Council on Postsecondary Education’s Student Complaint Procedure (S-16, section I), if the institution’s internal procedure fails to resolve the complaint, the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner will then refer the student and/or third-party individuals with complaints related to federal or state laws or regulations to the appropriate federal or state agency. In addition, students or other individuals with complaints involving an allegation of criminal and/or illegal activity will be referred to their campus police department, their local police department, or the Rhode Island State Police. Complaints involving allegations of discrimination will be referred to the institution’s Affirmative Action Office and/or Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights (or the applicable federal EEOC office).
If your complaint deals with an online course or program, the Office can help you seek resolution pursuant to the Council on Postsecondary Education’s Student Complaint Procedure (S-16, section II).
Virginia
- Southern California University of Health Sciences is authorized by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and meets the requirements for distance education certification as states in section §23.1-219 (F) of the Code of Virginia. This authorization is subject to periodic review and authorizes XYZ University to offer distance education programs to Virginia residents. The Council may be contacted for a list of currently authorized programs. Authorization by the Council does not carry with it an endorsement by the Council of the institution or its programs. Federal Authorizations
- The University is authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act to offer eligible students financial assistance in obtaining postsecondary education (OPE-ID 001229-00).
- The University’s Doctor of Chiropractic program is approved by the Veterans Administration for VA Educational Benefits eligibility. Changes to federal law may occur at any time without notice.
- The University is authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to issue the I-20 Certificate of Eligibility to allow eligible students to apply for an F-1 student visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad.

The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education
The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®), has a formal policy regarding the filing of a complaint. ACOTE will investigate a complaint when it believes practices or conditions indicate the educational program may not be in substantial compliance with accreditation standards or established accreditation policies. However, ACOTE is not able to intervene on behalf of individual students or act as a court of appeal for faculty members or students in matters of admission, appointment, promotion, or dismissal. The filing of a formal complaint is considered a “last resort” to be taken after all other avenues for resolution have been explored.

National Ayurvedic Medical Accreditation Council
The following are the procedures the Council follows in addressing a complaint against an NAMAC accredited program [SCU’s Ayurveda certificate programs have accreditation candidacy]:
When an oral complaint against an accredited program is received, the complainant is provided a copy of this policy statement and advised that complaints must be submitted to Council in writing with sufficient documentation to substantiate the complaint.
When a written complaint against an accredited program is received, the Executive Director acknowledges receipt of the complaint in writing within 15 days. The Council will not review anonymous complaints.

WASC Senior College and University Commission
The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) has two established means for receiving comments from students, employees, and members of the public about its member institutions: (1) complaint and (2) third-party comment.
Individuals are encouraged to review WASC’s Complaint Policy and the Third-Party Comment Policy in order to better understand which policy serves their needs. As a general rule, complaints are written by employees and students who have grievances that draw into question the member institution’s adherence to one or more Commission Accreditation Standards or Policies. Third-party comment, on the other hand, tends to consist of more general comments of a substantive nature about a member institution.
