PAPH 409 - Public Health Description This course examines population-based integrative approaches to improve the health of the public. There will be a focus on current public health issues and the prevention of significant causes of mortality and morbidity, including strategies that can be used to promote health and prevent disease. This course will communicate what public health is, how it works, and who is involved, emphasizing the important role that healthcare providers and public and private entities play in determining the health of the public. There will be a focus on the social aspect of disease, how to determine the health care needs of a community, and how these needs can be addressed using evidence-based public health interventions.
