This is a survey course that provides students with an introduction to the study of legal, policy and ethical issues in healthcare. Topics include foundational and complex legal issues, leadership roles, and professional relationships in the healthcare system, liability of healthcare professionals and institutions, access to healthcare and equity, discrimination, quality of healthcare, patient autonomy and patient protections.
