DPT 621 - Evidence-based Practice II Description Expands elements of applied research design and statistics that foster students becoming intelligent consumers of scientific literature. Students will apply knowledge from the first Evidence Based Practice Course to promote the application of evidence to clinical populations through the formulation of clinical questions, searching the literature, then critically appraising findings. Focus for research design, statistical analysis, critical inquiry, and clinical appraisal of the strength of evidence, as well as integrating the evidence with clinical judgement and the patients’ values are presented. Provides framework for subsequent system-based practice management courses in which scientific foundations of physical therapy practice are presented.
