Ethical, legal, and social issues in the U.S. Healthcare system focuses on the ethical, legal, and social issues relevant to the field of genetic counseling and in alignment with the NSGC Scope of Practice for professional genetic counselors. Students will engage in activities which cover principles of billing and coding, fundamentals of health insurance, medical malpractice, ethical principles, and legislative statutes applicable to professional practice standards.
