OTPP 732 - Exercise and Physical Activity for Older Adult Description This 2-week, online self-directed course, will provide occupational therapists a review of exercise physiology principles, a superficial overview of the testing required for effective exercise prescription, and the application of these principles to the older adult population. The learner will learn to modify their exercise prescription in response to frequently encountered co-morbidities. Finally, psychosocial aspects of exercise prescription will be discussed in order to begin and maintain physical activity and exercise programs within the older adult population. Upon completion of this course a successful learner, will be able to prescribe therapeutic exercise and physical activity to the older adult based on best-evidence and patient values.
