OTPP 735 - Geriatric Cardiopulmonary Conditions

Description
This course will include an abbreviated review of physiological changes within the cardiopulmonary system during the aging process, build up on existing knowledge of cardiopulmonary diseases and conditions, and appropriate rehabilitation intervention of these conditions to optimize outcomes for management of the older adult patient. Interprofessional collaboration will also be covered within the course as patients with cardiopulmonary conditions are often medically complex and require an interprofessional approach to optimize the management of their condition(s).The goal of this 6-week online, self-directed course is to provide physical and occupational therapists with the skills required to treat cardiopulmonary conditions within the older adult population.
