AY 1950 - Motivational Interviewing and Coaching Description Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered approach to counseling that aims to evoke and strengthen an individual’s motivation for positive behavioral change. This course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the principles, techniques, and applications of Motivational Interviewing and coaching. Students will review the foundational concepts and skills of MI and how to apply them in various contexts. They will be guided through a sequence of learning activities designed to equip learners with essential skills to effectively engage with clients, patients, or individuals to facilitate behavior change in a collaborative and empowering manner.
