BSHS 0307 - Nutrition in Health and Human Performance Description This course will provide students with an introduction and solid foundation in the science of nutrition and how it impacts health, sport/exercise performance, and recovery. The physiological mechanisms involved in macronutrient (i.e., carbohydrate, protein, and fat) metabolism and how each is used to fuel the working muscle will be covered. Dietary strategies and training methods for enhancing athletic/training performance and recovery, as well as improving body composition will be examined. Finally, emerging topics in sports nutrition research will be evaluated
