XR 0515 - Diagnostic Imaging Basics and Anatomy

Description
This is an introductory level course pertaining to the appearance of both osseous and soft tissue anatomy as visualized on plain film radiographs and to a lesser extent advanced imaging. Anatomic areas covered include the spine, extremities, chest, and abdomen. Emphasis will be placed on the categories of anatomy identification both on plain films, and to a lesser extent CT (Computed Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), normal/congenital variants and developing a search pattern approach to radiographic image interpretation. Clinical reasoning behind the imaging of patients will also be discussed.
