DPT 644 - Management of Complex Patients Description Introduces patient management strategies for the medically complex patient across the lifespan. This case-based course presents assessment and intervention integration through emphasis of clinical decision-making related to the physical therapy management of individuals with multimorbidity and polypharmacy. Special focus and emphasis are placed on the management of patients with multiple comorbidities of the cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, oncologic, lymphatic, and integumentary systems and social determinates of health. Students will design individual assessment and intervention plans for effective disease management and identification of appropriate referral patterns for complex patients across clinical settings.
