BSHS 0400 - Current Trends in Health Education Description This course examines the intersection of health and culture, by looking at the impact of diversity and socio-cultural factors on health. It includes a solid foundation of the history, philosophy, theory, and ethics of health education and connects fundamental topics to research, resources, and practitioners.
Students in this course will learn about roles and responsibilities of health education specialists, potential occupational settings, the ethics that inform professional decisions and the impact of social and cultural changes on the health care system through both an integrative and biomedical lens.
