OTAZ 608 - Professional Development and Life Long Learning Description This course introduces the concepts of professional identity, professional behavior, and professional development. Students will learn about local, state, and national occupational therapy organizations and their impact on engagement and competence. Students will learn how to promote their professional self and personal goals through an effective online presence and development of a LinkedIn profile. The course focuses on the roles of supervisor, fieldwork educator, and academician in occupational therapy. Supervision resources of the profession will be used to introduce supervisory concepts for licensed and non-licensed personnel; these concepts will be practiced in role play and documentation assignments. Lastly, students will be introduced to the code of ethics, core values, and principles of practice for the profession of occupational therapy.
