OTAZ 613 - Theories and Models of Practice II Description This course focuses on the models and frames of reference that shape occupational therapy practice in relationship to engagement in occupation. The student participates in the critique and discussion of the theoretical perspectives commonly used in occupational therapy practice and examines the role of theory in clinical decision-making process as it relates to clients across the lifespan. Students will examine the evidence on how applying models and frames of reference addresses disease states and improves client participation to promote occupational performance. Lastly, this course will facilitate the use of strategic thinking and therapeutic use of self to support occupational engagement.
