OCTH 0628 - Assistive Technology and Occupation Description This course provides students with the knowledge to investigate and analyze the appropriate application of assistive technology and adapted equipment to support function, quality of life, and occupational engagement. Topics include conducting a needs assessment, design, fabrication, application and training in assistive technologies and device usage to improve occupational performance. This course focuses on the evidence-based selection of assistive technology to support engagement in occupation. In this course, students will gain the skills to provide recommendations and training in techniques to enhance functional mobility for occupational engagement. The course will also focus on how to provide evidence-based care, while demonstrating health equity, inclusion, and diversity across all practice settings.
