OCTH 0648 - Professional Development Preparation Description This culminating course prepares students to apply and integrate occupation-centered, evidence-informed care to challenging cases across the lifespan. Learners integrate strategies and techniques focused on the pragmatics of providing care across the continuum of occupational therapy services. Students demonstrate implementation of the occupational therapy process considering the individual as well as individual in their contexts, incorporating theoretical perspectives, while addressing professional and ethical issues. Concurrently, learners will refine their professional behaviors including self-management and self-awareness, navigating difficult conversations, efficiency in documentation and time management. This course engages students in comprehensive professional development and preparation for practice in a complex world. The curricular threads are woven throughout the course including occupational justice, occupation-centered care, lifestyle health, and lifelong learning.
