CBN 0601 - Pharmacology/Toxicology Description This lecture course covers the various drug groups and poisonings which Health Care Professionals are most likely to encounter in their practice. The pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetic principles of drugs, pollutants and poisons will be discussed. Available resources in relation to poisons and adverse effects of drugs will be introduced. The nature of the hazardous substances in the environment will be explained. Students will also learn the potential effects of drugs and poisons in altering or masking presenting symptoms in the clinical setting.
