ACHM 1012 - Pathophysiology II Description This course comprehensively presents the physiology and pathology beginning with an introduction to neoplasia, going on to blood disorders along with an overview of the immunopathology, cardiovascular system, and endocrine system. This course is one of three courses devoted to the study of the normal physiological processes of various systems followed with introductions to the etiology, pathogenesis, manifestations, and prognoses of various disease processes. Various pathologies are explored in a systematic fashion. The bases for clinical tests used to evaluate the dysfunction of each system are discussed. Case histories are examined to correlate content to clinical situations and to introduce the student to rationales for diagnosis and management. Course instruction includes lectures and small-group discussions and activities.
