HGEN 0523 - Clinical Case Studies in Genetic Counseling Description Although ethical questions related to the field of genomics and genetic testing have been recognized for some time, they have gained greater urgency due to the rise in complexity of this field. This course will walk you through the many ethical issues that are surfacing in common genetics practice. Ethical topics covered in the course include those relating to prenatal and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, assisted reproductive technologies, incidental findings in genetic testing, gene patenting, testing children for adult-onset disorders, direct-to-consumer testing, and research studies.
