OCTH 0612 - Functional Anatomy, Movement and Occupation with Lab Description Course Description with Relationship to Curricular Design
This course provides students with integrated, theoretical, and functional approaches to studying anatomy, movement and occupational performance utilizing virtual technology and case application. The course covers the principles of movement, body alignment, joint structure, muscle actions and motor planning as the basis to assess typical and atypical movement during life tasks. This course focuses on the core physiological principles of the human body which support engagement in occupation. Thus, students begin their journey into occupation-centered practice by understanding the link between body functions and structures and how they are utilized in daily life occupations. This course focuses on utilizing evidence to understand the effects of disease processes on occupational performance. Pedagogical approaches to learning include active learning and collaborative team activities.
