OCTH 0622 - Neuroscience and Occupation Description Course Description and Relationship to Curricular Design
This course links foundational knowledge in the neurosciences to occupational performance, focusing on nervous system structure and function in development, the role of plasticity, and the effect of trauma and disease. By analyzing differences in central and peripheral nervous system functions, students learn how engagement in occupation affects, and is affected by, neurological processing. This course draws from problem-based learning by engaging students in case application of course content; students will work collaboratively to apply knowledge of neuroscience to real world problems, evaluate the effects of neurological experiences on occupational performance, and creatively envision opportunities to promote occupational participation.
