AHB 1210 - Chinese Herbology II This is one of a four-course series on evidence-based Chinese herbal medicine and provides students with the necessary foundation for more advanced study later in the program. This course advances to explore the relevant botany concepts, properties and safe clinical application of core medicinals in each therapeutic category. The categories covered include Herbs that Clear Heat, Herbs that Drain Dampness, Aromatic herbs that Transform Dampness, Herbs that Expel Parasites, Substances for Topical Application, Substance with Unacceptable Toxicity, and Substances from Endangered Species. Students will apply core knowledge to the evaluation of clinical case studies and will choose corresponding herbs for cases.
