XRPA 201 - Diagnostic Imaging 1 This is an introductory level course pertaining to the appearance of both osseous and soft tissue anatomy as visualized on plain film radiographs and to a lesser extent advanced imaging. Anatomic areas covered include the spine, extremities, head, chest, and abdomen. Emphasis is placed on the categories of anatomy identification both on plain films, and to a lesser extent CT and MRI, normal/congenital variants and developing a search pattern approach to radiographic image interpretation. Clinical reasoning behind the imaging of patients will also be discussed. Teaching methods include lectures, skills laboratory, and problem-based large group discussions that focus on clinical reasoning.
